Almost 2 months since my last post and preview~ I have to say life with a "day job" sure changes things:) I love working at the school, but things like blogging my photo sessions have kind of been put on the back burner...I need to be better, I have lot's of cute shoots to post! Soooo without further slacking on my part, here is a sampling of what I've been up to!
Love this family, they are great repeat clients...I love it when they come back...means I must be doing something right:)

There are just not enough hours in the day:) Have I mentioned that I have 4 gorgeous brothers? And that they have gorgeous wives and kids? Well, I do! And I've been lucky enough to do some pictures for my family:) The newest addition Miss Lily is featured in the previous blog post, but here are a few more of her, because she is so stinkin' cute:)

What a fun-filled session I had with two cute brothers! Older brother was such a ham...he talked up a storm to me:)
Regarding this first picture we had this conversation:
Me: Hey I've got this fun hat I just bought, I've been waiting to have someone to wear it for a picture...will you let me take a picture of you in it?
"C": But my hair is all fixed!
Me: I promise I won't push it down on your hair so it won't get messed up.
I then showed him the hat and he laughed and laughed...
He finally agreed to try it on and I got the shot exactly like I envisioned it when I bought the hat:)....I love my job!

I figured I need to get with the times and offer digital packages for clients wanting digital images!! Also with the economy the way it is I know we all are struggling and so these prices on these collections are significantly less than what I have previously charged. Up until this point I have charged $50 for one digital image and $12 for each 5x7. Each package includes the digital images specified and a quality 5x7 print of each of the digital images. There are some major savings when going with the digital packages. Some benefits of having the digital images are being able to use them on the web, blogs, emails, screen savers, not to mention you will have a copyright release to be able to print anywhere you would like up to 11x14 in size. Of corse if you just want to order prints through me you can do that too! When purchasing a digital package you will receive 20% off of any additional prints ordered through me. Another great change is no more sitting fee (for one person, see pricing for each additional person)! Well as I contemplate the past year of my photography business and look forward to what 2009 has to offer, I realize there is always room for change and improvement! I am still finalizing a lot of the details and as soon as I get the small stuff figured out I will post the changes on my blog! Wow, this year has flown by! I am breathing a sigh of relief and relaxation as I am done with all of my photoshoots for 2008, I still have a few sessions to edit and some orders to get in, and then it's time to spend time with my family and focus on the reason for this season. Thanks to all of my ultra-fabulous clients this past year, you make my job enjoyable! For all of my 2008 clients the end of the year is a time for me to clean up my hard drive on my computer and make room for 2009 clients, so if you are a client that still has not placed an order it must be submitted to me no later than December 10th. Okay, so to update my booking for the rest of 2008: No more family openings left:( so sorry, if you want to be put on a list for 2009 give me a call or send me an email. If you have a child or siblings that you would like done in my studio I have 2 openings left this month...and that's it. There are no sessions available the month of December. Towards the end of December I will be booking 2009, if you want to be put on a waiting list for 2009 please email me and let me know who the session will be for (# of people and ages) also specify if you would like studio or outdoor location. I still have to be mom and wife first and foremost and so I take a limited number of sessions a month. Graduating Seniors.... have you seen the fun, amazing, unique pictures and announcements of the graduating seniors from last year? If you would like a senior session please email me and I will get you on my list, I will be taking a limited number of senior's next year as well, it seems like I get bombarded with these sessions in April and May, so I would like to spread them out a bit next year! Christmas Cards need to be ordered by December 1st. I will be posting some examples of some of the different designs for this Christmas Season....whew, that was a lot of info! Now onto the fun stuff! ....this is little miss "A" ~ It was so much fun to have a girl in the studio! It seems like I've had an overload of little boys lately....not that I don't love them too, you just can't dress them up and do all the girly stuff that is so much fun:) Little Miss "A" did not want to sit in one place, but we figured out a few tricks to get her still for a couple of seconds! ....no for real! This cute bride to be called me and wanted her bridals done at the sand dunes....now I haven't ever been to the sand dunes, so I was a little nervous to begin with, but I imagined some pretty cool locations there. So we drove out to the sand dunes and sure enough there were some really cool sand mountains and hills. I was thinking we could do some shots at the base of the sandy hills, but that was not what the bride had in mind, she wanted to drive up on 4 wheelers to the top of sand mountain, her brother followed us out and pulled the 4 wheelers, I thought he was probably just bringing them to get around, not to drive straight up a sandy mountain........now to the part where I almost died...so the bride jumped on one of the bikes holding her dress in a bag and started hauling butt up the hill, her veil blowing in the breeze, I wish so bad I would've gotten a picture of that, but I was a little nervous to say the least because I was on back of the other 4 wheeler with the brides brother driving up the hill....seriously I thought I was going to die!! I don't remember being that scared in a while...I am kind of a chicken when it comes to the bikes, if it is a flat road I'm fine, but any little tilt at all scares me to death:) Well I survived, and can I just say we got some amazing shots, so worth all of the anxiety! I think these are some of my favorite bridals ever:) I promised her a sneak peek before I leave to go out of town on Tuesday! So here you are Jamie, and trust me there will be a lot more to come!

I love this family, the kiddo's have been to see me a couple of times and it was so much fun to get to photograph the whole family! I loved their clothing choices:) Props to mom for picking out such great clothes! Just a pointer to future clients, notice how the little girls dress has a pattern with a bunch of colors that coordinate and then mom, dad, & brothers shirts are one of the colors in the babies dress! Magic:) Sometimes we think we all have to wear the same color and everyone has to match, well this fam's pictures show how to match and coordinate with variety and style! Rough and tumble boys, gotta love em'! The younger little guy "B" had a bad owie right under his eye, I told mom, oh no biggie, we can photoshop that out, and I love that she said, no I think I want it in the pictures, it will remind us of how he was at this age! I love that! Sometimes we think our pictures and memories have to be perfect, but how important it is, especially in photos of our children to capture those little imperfections that will one day be long gone:) Here is your sneak peek Tenille! What a difference two years makes! I've had the first picture hanging in my entry way for two years now and I figured it was about time (2 years later) to update it:) You would think as a photographer that I would have monthly updated pictures of my own kiddos. But believe me, my kids are my most difficult subjects to photograph! A lot's happened during the last two years with our family, it will almost be 1 year (on August 26th) when my daughter Rylie received her life saving liver transplant. It was a very difficult time for our whole family, I'm so proud of all of my kids for how well they handled our lives being turned upside down for a while:) And now as we look back we can see how the whole experience has strengthened our family. It was a life-changing experience for sure, and a little ...okay, a LOT rough at times, but looking back we have been extremely blessed throughout it all.. and Rylie is doing fabulous with her brand new liver, she is alive and well today because a family said yes to organ donation. Rylie's donor Randon's mom has created a beautiful memorial website for her son Randon's site . Notice Rylie's picture in the slideshow:) Also for more info on organ donation visit Organ Donation.

The youngest member of this family, little Miss "L" has come to see me for pictures a couple of times, I was thrilled to meet the rest of her family to do some family portraits. Everything is so green and lush outside right now, it's a super time for pictures! This family was so much fun, I can kind of relate, two rowdy fun-loving boys and a sweet girl, only mine are in the opposite order! Anyways here is your sneak peek Em! This was another family that traveled south a ways for their pictures, it really makes me feel good when people love my work enough to travel to come and see me:) So thanks so much for that!

This little gal had so many poses, I asked her, "have you been watching America's Next Top Model to get ideas for your pictures?" I was just joking, but come to find out...she loves that show (...me too!) And I think she picked up some pretty good tips for photo shoots! She was a natural in front of the camera, and I loved that she brought her little puppy along! Too cute~ I'm feeling a little behind on all of my editing, I've been super busy and the Forth of July was crazy fun, but it's taken a toll on my photography stuff, so if you are waiting for a sneak peek, keep checking back, I promise I'll hurry:) Also July is completely booked, and August is filling up! I love these:) A storyboard is basically 3-5 pictures together in a collage format that tell a "story". They come in a 10" by 20" size as well as a 4x10 mini size. Here is an example of one that I love, showing the interaction and love between a little boy and his mama!

These two little boys were adorable! They are in my ward so I get to see them every week at church, and they are always dressed so cute:) We started early for this session, about 8:30 am....and these two were just as happy as could be!

I have finished all of my '08 Senior Clients, and wanted to tell each one of them how much fun I had taking their senior portraits and designing their announcements! What I loved about this years graduates was that each one was soooo unique and I think it shows in the way their announcements turned out, all of them had input on what they had in mind and then we went from there making changes as needed until they were exactly what they wanted! One picture...three different ways~

Just for fun I wanted to show all of my clients how different one picture can look depending on the way you edit it, and also give Michelle a sneak peek of her gorgeous kiddo's!
First we have the normal edit, which I love....

Next we have one that is a bit faded with some texture added, I find myself loving this look more and more lately!

and finally a little old school:) Love this one too!!

This little cutie is my cousins little boy, usually this age isn't the easiest to photograph....but Mr. "A" was a perfect angel....we had so much fun, we got a ton of cute smiles and expressions...mom is going to have a bunch to choose from! It's so much fun to see my clients grow too, this little guy has had his pictures done a few times, the first being at 6 months old...my how he has grown in the last 2 years! Cute as ever!!
